ROUTE

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: Meeting / Immigration and Cruise to High Rock - 1 or 2 DivES (-/L/D)

Meeting time in Ranong at 8:00 AM at the boat and stamp out of Thailand. Then the boat will take us to Kawthaung where we will get our visa for Myanmar (Islands only). In the afternoon we will depart to our first dive site High Rock

Please note: For the customers to join us in Kawthaung we meet 9:30 AM at Myo Ma Jetty. We will bring your gear and some spares for testing.

In the afternoon we start with easy diving for the first day at High Rock and Rocky 1: the sites with full of spot rays and cobia as well as a lot of small stuffs hiding in the coral. It is a good day to test your eyes! Here we can find all the special things like Pipe fish, Pineapple Fish, Frog fish, Sea Horses and many different species of Nudi branches. If times allows us we have a second dive here.

Accommodation: AC Private Cabin with bathroom
Meals: Dinner

DAY 2: Black Rock - 4 Dives (B/L/D)

Black Rock sits all alone far from the Myanmar coastline. It is one of the most westerly islands in the entire Mergui Archipelago. To the north west, faint on the horizon you can see the Sular Islands and to the east Eliza Island, equally far away. Other than these small hints of land there is nothing but open ocean as far as the eye can see. It is also a deep part of the Andaman Sea. Heading West the bottom quickly reaches 300m in depth.

Black Rock is Myanmar’s giant manta ray hotspot. Of all the 50 or so individual identified manta rays in the Manta Matcher database from Myanmar 48 were encountered at Black Rock. Dr Andrea Marshall of the Marine Megafauna Foundation and subject of the BBC documentary ‘Andrea, Queen of Manta’ first visited Black Rock in 2011 and after only two days diving there labelled Black Rock as one of her top ten dive sites in the world. Over these two days she identified 11 individual manta rays.

There are soft corals which are more densely populated in the deeper southern area of the dive site, and this beautiful coloured area includes orange cup corals, bizarre feather stars, and huge gorgonia sea fans.

For the fans of macro life they should look out for the rare Spotted Hawkish which can be found hiding out in the sea fans. You can find Black Spotted Puffer fish, they are usually just chilling out on the ledges and not straying too far at all.

Moray eels including Zebra, Honeycombed and White Mouthed Morays can be seen, you may even bump into a Giant Moray or Two. Also Blue Ringed Angelfish swim down near the edges of the outlaying rocks. This is a good spot for seeing different kinds of reef sharks and maybe if you are really lucky even Bull sharks.

Another great place to explore is the wall, if the desire takes you, for hunting big-eye Trevally, Pompano and Coral Banded Sea Snakes. Rainbow Runners out hunting pass by in fast moving aggressive schools looking for any unfortunate lonesome fish.

Accommodation: Private Cabin with AC & bathroom
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 3: North and Southern Pinnacles - 4 Dives (B/L/D)

Third day diving is an adventure diving, we will dives 3 dives at north twin and pinnacles around north twin island and 1 dive in south twin. Dive sites in twins islands usually offer the best visibility and the highest chance for pelagic.

Chance to see Manta Ray, Eagle Ray, Whale Shark, Grey Reef Shark, Nurse Shark, Zebra Shark and giant Sea Fans.

Accommodation: Private Cabin with AC & bathroom
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 4: Sea fan Forest Pinnacle & Western Rocky - 4 Dives (B/L/D)

Forth day diving may be the finest diving on the trip. 2 dives at Seafan Forest pinnacle, the dive site with a forest of beautiful giant sea fans where you have a very good chance to see some of the big stuffs.

And another 2 dives for that day are at Western rocky, which is one of the most famous dive sites in Burma. Don't worry we still won’t need to share it! One of the highlights is a tunnel (cave) at 20 meters depth that goes all the way through the island. You will see lobsters hiding in dark corners as well as sleeper lobster and many types of crabs (sponge crab, spider crab, anemone crab). We have also spotted Bowmouth Guitarfish, Whale Shark, Various shark species Harlequin Shrimp, Frogfish and Seahorses…

Accommodation: Private Cabin with AC & bathroom
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 5: Western Rocky - 1 or 2 Dives (B/L/-)

Another 1 or 2 dives at Western Rocky depending on the situation. A guest appearance by a three-metre nurse shark is not uncommon and there are good chances of seeing other shark species.

After the last dive we will go back to Kawthaung where there will be opportunity for some souvenir shopping and a fresh local beer. Say good bye to the divers, who are returning to Yangon. Once we got our passports back by the Burmese authorities, we will head back to Thailand where we get a new stamp – Immigration Clearance will be around 5 PM.

Accommodation: Private Cabin with AC & bathroom
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Please note: Dive sites are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions. But remember we are divers and on the boat ourselves – we will for sure give you the best options of the day in any condition. We are divers working for divers and love diving – for sure we pick only the best.
